LOVE LETTERS

Love Letters is a typographic exploration of typeface history, classification, and anatomy transformed into an interactive house of cards. Developed as part of an introductory typography course, the project required the design and production of a full alphabet card deck, with each card featuring a distinct typeface alongside its designer, classification, and year of origin. By combining educational content with tactile design, the project transforms typographic study into an engaging physical experience.

Inspired by Valentine’s Day aesthetics, the visual system incorporates a red and pink palette, handwritten-style typography, and packaging designed to mimic a box of chocolates, reinforcing themes of sentimentality and gift-giving. The final product balances conceptual creativity with structural durability, requiring precise craftsmanship to ensure the house of cards could successfully function as both packaging and interactive object. Through the integration of typography, packaging, and physical construction, this project demonstrates foundational knowledge of type history while emphasizing design precision, thematic cohesion, and material execution.
